This figurine of Didi, hand-painted, corresponds to the vignette C4 (page 57) of the album The Blue Lotus. This young Chinese boy, son of Wang Jen-Ghié, is used by Rastapopoulos and Mitshuirato to decapitate his parents and Tintin by inoculating his body with a poison that turns him into a madman. Fortunately, the plan of the two villains does not succeed and Didi is cured of the disease with a remedy for the poison.

While trying to catch Calculus in flight to prevent him from falling, Captain Haddock is targeted by the worker in charge of painting the rocket's fuselage. Enough to literally change his color!
