This jewel is the symbol of the crown of Syldavia, a country invented by Hergé to contextualize the expansionism of the Nazi regime and later the Cold War. Borduria, in Eastern Europe, is the rival country and wants to steal the scepter in order to overthrow the monarchy led by King Muskar XII.
