The Calculus Affair. Special edition Journal Tintin.
In this carefully crafted special edition of The Calculus Affair, we rediscover, almost seventy years later, the original version of this adventure, published in Tintin magazine, which differs considerably from what we have known until now, particularly the last twenty plates. This album, set during the Cold War, exquisitely blends touches of spy novel, satire, and scientific espionage, all with a fast-paced rhythm that once again highlights Hergé's mastery with pencil and pen. The Belgian cartoonist's most Hitchcockian adventure includes an informative dossier that expands on the historical context of this episode, and also recounts the restoration of the original plates and the incorporation of the Hergé Studios team. Hergé is the pseudonym of Georges Remi, playing on the inverted initials of his name. Throughout the evolution of his star character, Tintin, we can see the progress of this author: from the early titles marked by the ultra-conservative doctrine of the editor of the newspaper Le Petit Vingtième to the break with convention embodied in The Blue Lotus, as well as the evolution of the society of his time. Hergé's research to provide historical context for his adventures, as well as his implicit social criticism, have made Tintin a 20th-century masterpiece.

THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN 12 - LE TRÉSOR DE RACKHAM LE ROUGE - FRENCH
This comic masterpiece, published in 1944, is the continuation of 'The Secret of the Unicorn' and tells the story of the search for the treasure of the pirate Rackham the Red. Professor Calculus enters the scene, the endearing scientist inventor, wise and absent-minded, whom we will meet again in the following adventures of Tintin, and who will become one of his good friends.
The Adventures of Tintin. Volume 2
The second volume of The Adventures of Tintin collected edition makes it clear that this publication goes beyond a simple reissue: it offers a comprehensive reading that allows readers to appreciate the series’ internal evolution and its growing narrative coherence.
In contrast to the foundational nature of the first volume, this one occupies a decisive moment, when Tintin’s adventures gain greater narrative complexity. Cigars of the Pharaoh introduces an internationally scaled plot that finds its natural continuation in The Blue Lotus, a key work in the aesthetic and ethical redefinition of the series. From this point on, exotic travel gives way to documented investigation, and the storytelling acquires greater cultural depth.
With The Broken Ear and The Black Island, the collection consolidates the elements that would become hallmarks of the series: political intrigue, counterfeiting networks, breathless chases, and an increasingly precise sense of pacing.
This group of albums not only establishes a distinctive graphic style and an innovative visual narrative, but also reflects the author’s constant learning process, refining his visual language and broadening his thematic ambitions. Volume 2 thus marks Tintin’s definitive transition from a hero in the making to a legendary figure of modern comics.

The Adventures of Tintin. Volume 1
In this first adventure, which began to be published in strips in the children's supplement of the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle, Hergé began drawing what would become the most famous reporter of all time: Tintin. For his first trip, he sends him to the land of the Soviets, with the newspaper's desire for anti-communist propaganda, which Hergé would later regret. Upon his return from the former Soviet Union, Hergé is commissioned to send the young reporter to the Congo, then a Belgian colony, and the resulting comic is an excellent representation of the European view of Africa at that time. In the third adventure in this volume, Tintin has to change continents and travel to North America, where he will have to face the terrible Chicago gangster syndicate, including the famous Al Capone. Hergé wanted to show as much of America as possible, such as the diverse landscapes, the big cities and industries, the prohibition of alcoholic beverages, and the plundering of the Native Americans, denouncing the way they were driven from their lands when oil was found there.
This is the first volume of a new commemorative edition that will bring together the 24 comics that make up The Adventures of Tintin in a new compact format, ideal for discovering—or rediscovering—the intrepid adventures of the most famous reporter and his faithful dog. Almost a hundred years after its first publication, Hergé remains one of the greatest icons of European comics. This special edition will not be reprinted beyond this first publication.
