AN ALPHABETIC ANTHOLOGY OF CURIOSITIES FROM HERGÉ’S ADVENTURES OF TINTIN
The object of this Tintin A-Z is to select details and facts that may be less familiar or even unknown, and which throw a new perspective on this remarkable reporter and his adventures. It is inevitably a highly subjective, arbitrary and personal view. Michael Farr (born 1953) is a British expert on the comic series The Adventures of Tintin and its creator, Hergé. He has written several books on the subject, including the best-selling Tintin, The Complete Companion, as well as translating many others into English. A former reporter, first for Reuters and then The Daily Telegraph, he travelled around the world as a foreign correspondent. After meeting Hergé, Farr started writing books about Tintin. Farr was the first to gain full access to the files and material Hergé had used in developing the Tintin stories.

Geo-Tintin C'est L'aventure , Plantu, Hergé
Plantu invites us to rediscover Tintin, thanks to the look he casts on Hergé's work and on the world. Hergé, Plantu, two multifaceted artists, two chroniclers of their time, two essential comic works. The first, after rubbing shoulders with the press cartoons, let his genius shine through in the many adventures of Tintin, among others. The second, after an attempt at comic strips, imposed his sharp eye and his mischievous stroke over the decades, more specifically on the cover of the prestigious newspaper Le Monde for fifty years. This special issue invites these two spirits to dialogue, beyond time, and when they have never met. The influence, sometimes unconscious, that Hergé had on Plantu, visible in the numerous tributes drawn by the latter, their common themes, their openness to the world and their explorer spirit, their animal companions, one a dog, the other a mouse, are as many doors as this book offers, thus inviting you to (re)discover two abundant universes.

De los Soviets a los Picaros, Bartomeu Castell, Castellano
It was about time that someone also looked into the life and miracles of Hergé's greatest creation, because the detective with the bloomers and the trench coat has found out everything about everyone. He has solved mysteries around the world and has overcome the vicissitudes of time as if nothing had happened. But... what do we know about him? Bartomeu Castell has equipped himself with his magnifying glass and his wide-brimmed hat, and has pursued the Belgian with the bristly fringe to the ends of the earth. He has sought out all the witnesses, from the soviets to the rogues, from those who saw him born, with his simple strokes, to those who witnessed his last salute on stage. Castell shows us all the existing clues to get to the center, to the heart of one of the Franco-Belgian vignettes that has stolen the most hearts.
